True Ambition
Wednesday, March 04, 2009
There are many people in my life who are trying to hold me back from trying
to pursue my dream in becoming a Registered Nurse. Even though a family is
supposed to support your ambitions and dreams, my family is not part of that
category. There is uniqueness in myself that people see and also I see in
myself. I am a self- starter and plan to achieve any and every goal that I
set for myself. I would be a great candidate for this scholarship because
even though there are many obstacles I face during my pathway to success, I
will never let anything come in my way of achieving my dream of becoming a
Registered Nurse.
My family does not support my idea of becoming what I want to be. I am the
only one in my family to have a career set in my mind and to be putting
forth the effort to become who I want to be in life. My brothers and sisters
think that because they have failed to make a career for themselves that I
cannot possibly succeed in life. On-the-contrary, I am different from my
family completely. When I have a goal or plan for myself I do anything I can
to accomplish it.
There is uniqueness in myself that I have not seen in any other people.
Whenever I meet new people, I try and figure out why their mind works the
way it does or what makes them behave the way they do. I use my mind to see
the problem from the inside out. I am very good at making good relationships
with people whom I already know or have just met. Being so caring, generous,
and accepting has led me to already start a career in nursing. I am
currently a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and have worked at a nursing
home since May 2008.
Being a self- starter has given me opportunities to see how well I can
manage my own ideas. I have been very successful and proud of myself for
doing so well with my life. There is nothing that can hold me back from
doing what I want with my life. I plan to further my education to nursing
school and become a Registered Nurse.
There are many qualities in myself that set me aside from anyone else in
the world. I am looking forward to my life and what is to come, instead of
dwelling on the past and not making something of myself. Trying to see the
problems that lie beneath the surface has opened my mind to new
possibilities and conditions. Being a self- starter has made me become
responsible and has made it possible for me to continue a career in nursing
education. Taking care of people is a passion for me, not just a profession.
I should be considered in winning this scholarship because I feel as if it
were my destiny to become a nurse and help people.
